CinnaHat
by Cinnamon Cooper, Illinois, USA
Materials used:
75% Mohair/25% Nylon form Knit One, Crochet too.
Special Techniques:
Instead of knitting the hat in the round, I did straight knitting which was joined in a pucker to form the front, and then used straight needles to knit from side to side to form the top.
Artist's Statement:
Cinnamon has been knitting for 15 years. She rebelliously taught herself to knit to make her crocheting mother frustrated. It didn't work, but she kept knitting anyway. For the past 3 years, everything she's made, that wasn't a gift, has been given to charities as silent auction items. She's managed to raise $1000. so far this year for various charities. Proceeds from the sale of this hat will be donated to the Arthritis Foundation. Cinnamon fears her love of knitting will require her to use their services at some point in the future.
For Sale:
$120.
Judges Notes:
We like the fact that this hat is malleable, you can shape it to suit your whims. Black is ALWAYS good.
