Don'ts.

Verbatim email I received today, typos and misspellings intact:

I am looking for a graph style pattern of a ballerina, suitable for entarsia knitting. I want to knit a sweater for Christmas for my 5-year-old granddaughter. who recently started taking ballet lesions. I also have a tip for fellow knitters.

To keep your row checker form falling off your knitting needles, cut two circles from thin plastic--I used a butter dish lid. Punch holes in the center with an ice pick and force them onto your needle, one of each side of your row counter. They can be easily removed, but them won't fall off.

Ok, the first hundred or so of these was funny, now I'm going insane. Is this a joke? Please make it stop. It is still funny, actually. What a wildly diverse culture we are. Now I know what an ice pick is used for.

Back briefly just to note: I'm FINE! Not depressed, angry or upset in the slightest. I'm actually happier than I've ever been. Extremely busy right now, until January. Focusing on making my shop and studio building thrive. Thinking alot about removing myself a bit from being so public, although what happens to me on a daily basis is almost NEVER posted here, I post literally 1% of my life.

I am the focus of more than a normal amount of stupidity, because I am accessible. I get sick of it, and just want a break. That's part of what the hiatus is. I am also the recipient of a huge amount of love and affection from my dear friends and you people who bother to read this. Means alot, whether I communicate that frequently enough, or not.

I don't really care about editing the comments, and the nasty, anonymous ones, especially "Leona's", or whatever her name was, and now "Karen's" started my day with a hearty laugh. If someone posts twice in error, I might clean it up, but those type of posts say more about the bitter assholiness of the writer than my situation. A grain of funny salt, my friends.

My favorite comment so far, and I do thank you all for caring enough to leave me sweet messages, is Tenise's. She's so right on. Thanks!

Back soon, LOVE YOU! xxxxoooo

On hiatus from blogging.

Ok, just for the record, I will not knock off any other designers work, for any price. Please don't bother to ask, or think I won't know if you sketch it yourself. I live in one of the fashion capitals of the world, I see all the shows, every season, the press coverage is great here, and I go to the trade shows, and see the garments in person. Jesus in a bottle. What next?

It was supernaturally beautiful in the park this early am, I went just after dawn with Mr. Dog. Thousands of golden leaves were filtering down from huge trees on green hills like feathers, it was incredible. Made me think of giant matte sequins.

Overcast now and looking like rain, maybe I'll not go into the city today. Have many errands and plenty of work to take care of here.

Custom Corset Pattern Generator.

Soundtrack for the next day and a half of blissfull, uninterrupted knitting and work in my studio: "Nathan Jones", Supremes version, "One for my Baby, One more for the Road", versions by Frank Sinatra, Etta James, Billie Holiday, The Travoltas, "Sally Go Round The Roses" by The Jaynettes, "Stop your Sobbing" by the Pretenders, "My Boy Lollipop", by Millie Small. "I saw her Standing There" versions by both Beatles and Daniel Johnson, and "If I Fell in Love with You", Beatles. And always, "Ramones Anthology", (thank you David!).

Will take a break later and do some photo-posting. Still finishing woodgrain coat. What a lovely day it is today! Don't have to go anywhere or do anything till tommorrow afternoon! Yippee!

While waiting for my spanish style liver steak to go from Castillo restaurant last night after work, who should walk in but A, my summer fling. Great. He's moving upstate at the end of the month, very nice. Tried to get me to visit him before then. I was tempted. But declined. Oh, how mature I am. Gotta let this one go. Seeing him still packs quite a physical punch, although emotionally and intellectually I am repulsed. Proud of myself today, instead of feeling stupid slinking home with messy hair. Will reward myself with a new pair of shoes tommorrow in the city. :->

Catch and Release is a program that's usually effective, but sometimes they do want to jump back into the boat. hehe

Right On, Little Schoolgirls! Oh, how I enjoyed this story. As a woman who's been "flashed" about 40 times in my life, and laughed outloud every time to the flashers chagrin, I think it's clear that the younger generation just ain't taking it any more. These girls deserve a medal or scholarship to college, or something. Our future leaders, obviously.

Got 6 pair of fingerless mitts back from Lena yesterday, washing and blocking them and a few scarves this am. Skirt knitting proceeds as planned.
